Bayne Ryshak

Coach Profile: Bayne Ryshak – Maple Ridge, BC

RMMHA 2015-2016 COACH OF THE YEAR

Bayne Ryshak is a dedicated hockey coach based in Maple Ridge, British Columbia, with a deep-rooted passion for developing players and fostering team success. A product of the Ridge Meadows Minor Hockey Association (RMMHA), Ryshak has transitioned from a standout player to a respected coach in the local hockey community.

Coaching Experience

•Ridge Meadows Flames (PJHL):

◦Player (2008–2010): Competed as a forward for three seasons.

◦Assistant Coach (2013–2014): Contributed to team strategy and player development.

◦Head Coach (2015–2021): Led the team for five seasons, achieving significant milestones, including a league championship appearance and a Coach of the Year award in 2017–2018.  

•West Coast Wolverines:

◦Head Coach (2014 and 2016): Currently coaching these age groups, focusing on skill development and competitive play.  West Coast Wolverines Hockey

•Cloverdale Minor Hockey Association (CMHA): 

  • 2 time provincial finalist, 1 x GOLD Medal 
  • 2024/2025 – Mike Bose achievement in coaching award

 

◦Coach of the Year (2021–2022): Recognized for outstanding coaching contributions. 

•SRT Hockey Academy:

Education & Personal Interests

•Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Integrated Studies at the University of the Fraser Valley, aiming for a teaching career.

•Passionate about the outdoors, particularly fly fishing and hunting.

Shayne Clarkson

Coach Profile: Shayne Clarkson – Our 2015 Spring Team Coach

Shayne expresses enthusiasm for the opportunity to coach with the 2015 Flames, a team with a notable connection to Hak. Shayne and Hak previously coached in Ridge for five years, guiding U11, U13, and U15 teams, prior to Shayne’s transition to coach the Cloverdale U13 A1 team. Currently, Shayne holds positions as an assistant coach with the Langley Hockey Academy 17U team and as an associate coach and player development specialist with the Mission Outlaws Jr A. Shayne and Mr. Hak have maintained a close professional and friendship. Shayne’s motivation to coach this team is rooted in his recognition of their importance to Hak and Hak’s significance to them.Shayne’s hockey background includes playing for Hastings in East Vancouver and playing junior hockey for various teams. He continues to play recreationally when he can find time.

Joe Olson

Coach Profile: Joe Olson, Maple Ridge BC, Our 2017 Spring Team Coach

Joe Olson grew up in Maple Ridge, BC, where his love for the game first took shape with the Ridge Meadows Minor Hockey Association. 

His dedication, skill, and on-ice leadership propelled him to the Junior ranks, beginning with the Ridge Meadows Flames and eventually moving on to the Timmins Rock.

Joe’s strong performance earned him a hockey scholarship to the University of Alberta – Augustana, where he continued to develop both academically and athletically. 

He later finished his playing career with the University of Victoria, ultimately graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree.

Today, Joe brings his lifelong passion for hockey, his experience across multiple competitive levels, and his commitment to player development into his coaching. 

He strives to create an environment where young athletes can grow, compete, and foster the same love for the game that shaped his own journey.

Reaghan Chadwick

Coach Profile: Reaghan Chadwick had a competitive hockey playing career that spanned from boys Rep Hockey with Poco Minor to Junior Women’s Hockey with the Pacific Steelers (JWHL). In 2011, she was selected to represent Team BC at the National Women’s U18 Championship.

She went on to play NCAA Division III.


Hockey for the St. Norbert College Green Knights in De Pere, Wisconsin where she earned honours including NCHA All-Freshman Team (2014/2015) and NCHA All-Tournament Team (2015/2016).


Following a career-ending injury, she transitioned into a student coaching role during her senior year while completing a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. Over the past four years, she has dedicated herself to developing the next generation of players, specializing in skating development and bringing a high-performance mindset rooted in years of elite competition.


She is still currently playing hockey in the South Coast Women’s Hockey League where she still finds her passion and love for the game.
